CHRIS QUADE COUTO
Chris Quade Couto was born in 1981 in Cologne / Germany.
During his childhood he began his career as a musician and at the age of 15 he specialized in Brazilian percussion. He played with famous artists such as Dudu Nobre, Sombrinha and Joyce Cândido, participated in intensive courses of Brazilian and Cuban percussion with professors such as Dudu Tucci and Ravin Jayasuriya, played in groups such as Pimenta Malagueta, Tim Sein Lada and Cologne Street Beat, founded and commanded the samba school Unidos de Colônia and the Suco Legal group.
Nowadays he is the musical director of Bloco X, singer and percussionist of the trio of forró Capangas, percussionist of Denise Krammer Trio and the band Muamba, founder and percussionist of Roda de Samba do Alemão and since 2004 he plays in the Unidos da Tijuca (Rio Carnival winner in 2010, 2012 and 2014) and other samba schools in Rio de Janeiro.
Chris works as a Brazilian musician and percussion teacher as a producer of cultural events and is president of the partnership between Cologne and Rio Köln-Rio e.V.
He is known for his excellent Samba workshops with which he travels every year all over the world. In recent years he has visited countries such as Japan, USA, France, Italy, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Scotland, Serbia, Portugal, etc. and in 2010 he was even called to give a special workshop at the world's famous music conservatory in Rotterdam / Netherlands.
